Καλλιτέχνες που πρόσφεραν την ενέργεια, την έμπνευση και το ταλέντο τους τα τελευταία χρόνια στις εικαστικές εκθέσεις στον Πύργο Μπαζαίου, είχαν δώσει ραντεβού εφέτος στην επετειακή χρονιά της εικοσαετίας του Φεστιβάλ Νάξου για να δημιουργήσουν νέα έργα μέσα σε ένα κλίμα οικειότητας, φιλίας και εορταστικής διάθεσης. Η πανδημία του Covid-19 απέτρεψε τη συμμετοχή των καλλιτεχνών από το εξωτερικό δεν εμπόδισε όμως τους εγχώριους να επεκτείνουν τη δημιουργικότητα τους καλύπτοντας την απουσία.
Κωστής Αντωνιάδης: «Αν οι Εικόνες είχαν μια Ζωή να Ζήσουν»
Ο Κωστής Αντωνιάδης παρουσιάζει μια νέα θεματική ενότητα «Αν οι Εικόνες είχαν μια Ζωή να Ζήσουν». Οκτώ βίντεο πορτρέτα σε οθόνες HD φαίνεται να υποφέρουν, να πονάνε, να δακρύζουν, να ονειρεύονται ή να ματώνουν, υποδηλώνοντας ένα βίωμα χρονικά απροσδιόριστο, με εμφανή όμως καταγωγή από την ιστορία της τέχνης και ειδικότερα τις θαυματουργές εικόνες.
Ingbert Brunk: «Διάφανος χρόνος»
Ο Ingbert Brunk εγκατεστημένος στη Νάξο εδώ και 35 χρόνια δουλεύει αποκλειστικά με το μάρμαρο. Με αφορμή την επέτειο του Φεστιβάλ ολοκλήρωσε μια ενότητα έργων με τίτλο «διάφανος χρόνος». Την ώρα που η ανθρώπινη περιπλάνηση νοηματοδοτείται με καινούριο τρόπο και το Αιγαίο μετατρέπεται σε μία θάλασσα απώλειας και ματαίωσης, ο Μπρουνκ στοχάζεται πάνω στην ανάγκη της ανθρώπινης ύπαρξης να δημιουργήσει μία νέα ιστορία και να υπερβεί τα υπαρξιακά της δεδομένα.
…και έργα καλλιτεχνών από προηγούμενες χρονιές
Τα εφετινά έργα συνυπάρχουν με εκείνα καλλιτεχνών από προηγούμενες χρονιές (Hiroshi Egami, Anais Lelievre, Collin Mura-Smith, Laurent Reynes, Sandor Zelenak, Saulius Valius) καθώς αυτά έχουν ενσωματωθεί δυναμικά στο χώρο. Η πολυπολιτισμική σύμπραξη οδηγεί ουσιαστικά σε ένα πολύμορφο πλουραλιστικό αποτέλεσμα, πολύτιμο απόσταγμα τέχνης, που διαποτίζει σταγόνα-σταγόνα, χρόνο με το χρόνο, το έμψυχο και το άψυχο χαράζοντας τη μνήμη.

A drop of Time | Art Exhibition
Artists who had offered their energy, inspiration and talent to the visual arts exhibitions staged at the Bazaios Tower in recent years, had been summoned to this year’s 20th anniversary edition of the Naxos Festival to create new works in an atmosphere of familiarity, friendship and festiveness. Regrettably, the Covid-19 pandemic prevented the participation of artists from abroad, but did not keep local artists from expanding their creativity in an attempt to fill in for the former’s absence.
Costis Antoniadis: «If Images Had But One Life to Live»
Costis Antoniadis is presenting a brand new thematic titled: “If Images Had But One Life to Live”. Eight video portraits on HD screens appear to be suffering, hurting, tearing up, dreaming or bleeding, pointing to a temporally undefined experience, yet clearly tracing its origins in the history of art, and more precisely in miraculous icons.
Ingbert Brunk: «Transparent Time»
Ingbert Brunk, a permanent resident of Naxos for 35 years now, has been working exclusively with marble. On the occasion of the Festival’s 20th anniversary, he completed a series of works titled “Transparent Time”. In an era when the movement of people is assigned new meanings and the Aegean Sea is turned into a sea of loss and revocation, Brunk is contemplating on the need for humans to create a new history and move beyond their existential conditions.
This year’s works coexist with works of previous years ((Hiroshi Egami, Anais Lelievre, Collin Mura-Smith, Laurent Reynes, Sandor Zelenak, Saulius Valius) as these have been dynamically integrated on site. This multicultural synergy essentially leads to a diverse, pluralistic outcome, a precious distillate of art, gradually imbuing, drop by drop, year after year, the animate and inanimate, inscribing memory.
